Dermstore Mini-haul

Hey everyone!

Just got my Dermstore order yesterday that I placed over the weekend. I used my $25 off $50 coupon that I received in my March Glambag. It took me forever to decide what to pick, but ended up with a couple Stila liners (expensive) and a tube of nail conditioner for my poor cuticles and super brittle nails.

The first liner that I purchased was in the color Purple Tang. I was expecting a much brighter purple color for some reason, but instead got a really dark (almost black) base with purple shimmer. I like it, don't get me wrong, but not what I was expecting to get with this one.

L to R: Purple Tang and Moray
The second liner I got was in Moray. Again, not as bright as I thought it would be, but it is super pretty. A bit of an army green with gold-ish shimmer. I can see myself using this one a lot more than the purple color since this would go really nicely with my go-to brown shadows.

Last item that I purchased was in my feeble attempt to strengthen my nails. This had pretty good reviews, so I figured I would give it a try. I don't know the brand, so I can't compare it with much. It does have a bit of a strong lanolin scent, but it fades as it soaks into your skin. I'll be trying this out for the next couple weeks and let you all know how it goes.

Until next time!

Fortune Cookie Soaps Haul

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to share with you my latest order from Fortune Cookie Soap. They had a BOGO offer on all their lip balms and also a twitter deal for a free fortune cookie soap with any order. Needless to say, my will power cracked and I HAD to make another purchase. This will be my last until the summer soapbox comes out though. I had to make a promise to my wallet about that. ;)

I'll start this off with all of my products that I purchased in the scent "In the Loop". It smells EXACTLY like Fruit Loops. I went a little crazy for this when I smelled it in a sample whipped cream in my last order and instantly knew I NEEDED more of it in my life. The first thing I purchased was a small size of their hand sanitizer because I love to keep these little bottles all over the place and this one is going in my car/purse for when my hands feel gross. The next item was their "Pick 3!" which was on sale at the time. In it you get one bottle of lotion, body wash, and body spray. You are able to pick three different scents if you want, but I just made it easy for everyone and chose them to be all the same.
L to R: Shampoo bar and Conditioner bar

Next from In the Loop, I purchased a shampoo and conditioner bar. I am running low on the current set that I am using and wanted to stock up on replacements. These smell so great and the conditioner bar is HUGE compared to the one that I am using right now. I don't know why the size difference, but I am certainly not complaining. The only strange things is how every other product in this scent is purple colored, but the conditioner is more of an orange. Again, I don't care. I love these products and will never go back to bottled shampoos or conditioners.

L to R: Bergamot & Grapefruit and
Honey/Ginger
I also got another of the body sprays in the scent "Wake Me Up Before You Mango". This is my other all time favorite Fortune Cookie Soap scent. It reminds me of gummi bears and I love being able to spray these in my hair and smell awesome all day. :D

The lip balms were their BOGO offer for the week and I picked up one in Bergamot and Grapefruit (awesome scent!) and Honey and Ginger (Not my favorite, but will still use it). These glide on like butter and leave my lips so moisturized. I can't say enough about them really. I want to pick up some more in my next order for sure.

This product was supposed to be the Tiny Tribute conditioner bar, but I was accidentally sent the shampoo bar instead. I already have the shampoo bar, so I obviously didn't need another one. haha If there is one thing that Fortune Cookie Soaps does right though, (they do a lot more than that, I promise haha) it is their customer service. I literally sent one tweet to the OWNER of the company and got a response in less than five minutes that she would send out the right product the next day. I mean seriously, you can't beat that. And she is letting me keep this shampoo bar, so it's now going to be used as a homecoming gift for a friend that is in Spain right now. He's probably so sick of hearing me rave about this company, so I'm going to surprise him with this gem!

Next product that I picked up was the Gelato Sampler. Which was a four pack of mini bath bombs in four completely new scents. I LOVE this idea. It came wrapped in a cute polka dot ribbon and they look so cute in the box that I hate to use them. haha The only bad thing is the box leaves a powder residue when you move it around too much, but that's to be expected from the shipping journey they went through. Alright, onto the scents. The purple one is called "Let's Go Wine Tasting!" and smells just like a sweet berry wine. I really like this one. It is tart and sweet and a little bitter, just like a delicious wine. The yellow fizzy is called "Piñata" and is supposed to smell like sweet and tangy soda pop. I like this one, but it's not my favorite. I don't drink soda at all, so the smell wouldn't be something I would gravitate towards. I will definitely still use it though. The pink one is called "Pink Tutu" and this one is my ABSOLUTE favorite out of the four. It smells like bubblegum, cotton candy, and bananas. I generally don't care for banana smells, but this one is just subtle enough for me. It is delicious and I want to eat it! haha Last, but not least, is the green one with is called "Summer Romance" this is a sweet apple hawaiian punch scent and smells awesome. Sweet and perfect. Can't wait to use it.

The last few items are the freebies that I received with my order. The fortune cookie soap that I received was in the scent "Rain Showers". And it is an amazingly clean scent, but also a bit sweet. If that makes sense. I love it! It's not something I would have ever picked for myself, but am so happy I got it for free in my order.
In your orders, you can also ask for a sample of a product you are curious about. At the time that I ordered, they had a bath melt called "Easter Bunny" which was supposed to smell like carrot cake and banana. I was so interested in that scent and the bath melts themselves, so I asked for a small sample of them. Well little did I know, the Easter Bunny was VERY limited edition. So unfortunately, they didn't have samples to give out. But in true fashion with their amazing customer service, the owner Shannon mixed up the scent into a giant sample of their body butter. I was so excited to see that in there! And not only that, she included some of their bath melts in "Coal Hearted" from the Hunger Games collection. I love both of these. I really hope they bring back the Easter Bunny scent because it is DELICIOUS!!

Alright guys, that's the end of my order. Hope you liked it and if you are interested in ordering anything for your self just click here for the Fortune Cookie Soaps website! I honestly have never had such great service from a company. They are amazing people and I'm so glad I found their products. :D

See you soon!

Review Tuesdays: Revlon Lip Butters

Hey everyone!

L to R: Sweet Tart, Peach Parfait, Cupcake, Tutti Frutti,
Gumdrop, and Creamsicle.
Today I am going to be doing a review and swatch post of all my Revlon Lip Butters. (I know, I'm way late in the game on these ones. haha) I had two originally, but I really wanted to try some of the brighter color options that I have been seeing in so many posts. Walgreens was having a buy one, get one 50% off sale of all Revlon products, so I went and picked up four other colors to add to my collection. The colors I ended up getting were Sweet Tart, Tutti Frutti, Cupcake, and Gumdrop. The two that I already had were in Creamsicle and Peach Parfait.

Sweet Tart: This shade is my ABSOLUTE favorite out of all the ones that I got! It's the perfect hot pink color for spring and I can finally wear the neutral eye, bright lip combo that I have always dreamed of! haha It applies like a dream and the color is so pretty and buildable. I can't say enough about this color. AWESOME!

Peach Parfait: This color was one of the original two colors that I purchased. It is much darker on the lips than it looks in the tube and has a TON of micro glitter pieces in it. It's so sparkly and the only one of all six that has that feature. I'm in a love/hate with the glitter. I do appreciate the extra shimmer, but I learned as I was swatching these one after another that the glitter sticks to the lips like cement. I could not get it off to save my life. Other than that, I think it is a pretty, more neutral pinky peach shade. Not my favorite, but I don't hate it.

Cupcake: This color is a light bubblegum pink. So cute in the tube and I like it on my lips, but I feel like the lighter, frostier shades tended to emphasize some of the dryness in my lips than any of the others. It's not horrendous or anything and an easy fix with some lip scrub, but just something to keep in mind with them. I really like this color on my skin, but might look a little too light on anyone darker.

Tutti Frutti: Orange is IN! Well according to Pantone anyways, but what do they know? ;) This was definitely one of those colors that I would NEVER have picked up normally. I tend to have a serious aversion to anything orange colored, but I saw this swatched on someone else and I really liked how it looked on them. We seemed to be similarly colored and with this surge of orange flooding into my life from all corners of the universe, I went out on a limb and bought it. And safe to say, this is also one of my favorites out of the bunch! Who knew? lol It's a gorgeous bright orange and looks very similar to the Sephora + Pantone color that just got released. Very appropriate for summer. And while I don't see myself jumping the Tangerine Tango bandwagon just yet, I can at least say that my toes are in the water.

Gumdrop: I keep wanting to call this one Lollipop for some reason, but the two colors are so completely different! haha This color I was back and forth on for a long time in the store.  I was between this one, which is a light purple/lavender shade and Créme Brulee (a nude color). I ended up with this color because it is so out of my comfort zone and that is what I want this blog to be about. Branching out, for better or worse. (Till death do us part? :/ ) All kidding aside, this color is super cute. Not crazy purple, but just the right amount. I can see myself wearing this with some bright colored eyes since it is so subtle that it shouldn't overwhelm my face. Another one of the lighter shades though and it can emphasize the dryness on my lips a bit.

Creamsicle: Last, but certainly not least, we have Creamsicle. This is probably the most neutral of the colors that I bought. I really didn't like this one at first, but I think it was because it white washed my lips more than I am used to seeing. I have naturally pigmented lips and it weirded me out to see them so pale, even though they aren't anywhere near as stark white as I perceived them. After I tried it out a couple times, I came to really like the neutral color it gave to my lips. The only downside being it is one of the lighter shades and out of all of them this one picked up the dryness the most.

Pros:
Balm texture
Moisturizing
Non-sticky shine
Awesome color payoff from a balm type product
Wide Ranged Color Selection
Packaging is Amazing

Cons:
Not as long lasting as I would hope
Price can be a little steep for some people considering it's a balm, but still way cheaper than any high end brand.
The glitter in Peach Parfait tends to linger A LOT.
Some of the lighter shades can emphasize dry lips.

Price: $7.99
Availability: Most drugstores and ULTA.

Overall, I really love these. I have never really been a lip product type of girl, but these are really changing my mind on that stance. I can see myself reaching for these on a daily basis! I do want to go get at least a couple more to try out the truer nudes and reds that they offer. Well, that's all for me guys. Hope you liked it! Giveaway still going on through April 28th! (I know I have been spamming all my posts with that, but I am just so freakin' excited! haha)

Until next time,

-Rianne

P.S. Will probably be making a schedule post pretty soon to let you know when and what I will be posting each week. :D

Giveaway Update!

Hey everyone!

More or less summarizes all my emotions about this
surge of followers lately. Mix of surprise, excitement,
and horror at not being prepared for it. haha
So as I'm sure you are mostly all aware of (since I have been spamming all my posts with it haha), I am currently holding my 50 followers giveaway! Which is super awesome! I said in that post that I would do another giveaway once I reached 100 followers.

Well, I said that thinking I would have a couple months (or at least until the end of the current giveaway) to get everything together for it. Well, the good news is I have already hit the next goal, but bads news is now I don't know what to do!

I only have one thing that I could giveaway and it's not all that I wanted to include. :/ I would hate to have more than one giveaway running because I don't want to be spamming you guys and up your butts with it all the time! haha And I really want to make this one even better than the current one, but my funds at the moment aren't allowing that. :/ So what I was thinking, would be to hold this giveaway on May 1st. Giving me more time to get the prizes complied and organized!

Hope everyone is ok with this! I'm sorry I wasn't more prepared, but gaining this many people in one weekend took me by COMPLETE surprise! o.O And I couldn't be more excited and grateful by it! Let me know what you think about this in the comments. Thanks again to everyone that's subscribed.

See you soon,

-Rianne
